Arethusa Falls – White Mountains, NH

Here is a view of the 140-foot waterfall called Arethusa Falls located in the White Mountains National Forest. Not a long hike from the trailhead, but did include an almost 800-foot vertical elevation difference which made for a slow hike. The waterfall is part of Bemis Brook which flows through Crawford Notch. A popular hiking destination, we hiked here in the early morning hours and had the place to ourselves for almost 15-minutes!

Tech Specs: Canon 6D, Canon EF17-40mm f/4L USM lens, tripod mounted, neutral density filter, HDR image with two exposures of 1.6 and ⅓ seconds, shot at f/20, ISO 100 and 17mm. Image Date: August 20, 2017. Location: White Mountains National Forest, New Hampshire.

Water Tank Run Falls in Tioga County, Pennsylvania

We ran into some bikers from Washington D.C. who were camped out just downstream of this nice cascade waterfall. They bypassed a packed overnight stop in favor of this location and had it all to themselves, they did well. This waterfall is located on Water Tank Run in Tioga County, Pennsylvania, there may be additional falls above this one, but did not venture further upstream.

Tech Specs: Canon 6D and Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM lens, tripod mounted, ½ and 2 ½ second exposures at ISO 100, f/18 and 17mm. Photographed on April 29, 2017.
