Arethusa Falls – White Mountains, NH

Here is a view of the 140-foot waterfall called Arethusa Falls located in the White Mountains National Forest. Not a long hike from the trailhead, but did include an almost 800-foot vertical elevation difference which made for a slow hike. The waterfall is part of Bemis Brook which flows through Crawford Notch. A popular hiking destination, we hiked here in the early morning hours and had the place to ourselves for almost 15-minutes!

Tech Specs: Canon 6D, Canon EF17-40mm f/4L USM lens, tripod mounted, neutral density filter, HDR image with two exposures of 1.6 and ⅓ seconds, shot at f/20, ISO 100 and 17mm. Image Date: August 20, 2017. Location: White Mountains National Forest, New Hampshire.

Avalanche Falls at Franconia Notch State Park New Hampshire

Avalanche Falls is located inside the Franconia Notch State Park in New Hampshire (free for instate residents – fee required for out-of-state visitors). The falls have a 25 foot drop and carry a pretty good spray on the walkway. I took the image below on May 7, 2016 using a Canon 6D, Canon EF17-40mm f/4L USM lens, HDR image of 1/3, 1.3 and 2.5 seconds at f/22, ISO 100, 40mm, tripod mounted, slightly cropped from a larger image.
