Northern Bog Violet – Lehigh Gorge State Park

During a recent bicycle ride in Lehigh Gorge State Park in Pennsylvania we spotted the seasons first wildflowers sprouting up, the Northern Bog Violet. These tiny little flowers were found right on the side of the trail and near wet areas formed from the spring runoff.

Wild Blue Lupines in Presque Isle State Park Pennsylvania

There are several spots inside Presque Isle State Park, Pennsylvania that have some spectacular fields of Wild Blue Lupines, one of my favorite wildflowers. This photo was taken on May 29, 2016.
