Eta Cassiopeia – A Beautiful Binary Star System

Here is a picture of the beautiful binary star system Eta Cassiopeia, sporting the colors gold and orange. The stars have a rotation period of about 500 years, the star magnitudes are 3.47 and 7.22. The orbit is not circular as the separation varies from 5” up to about 16”.

Tech Specs: This is a single image exposure, five seconds, ISO 3200, using a Meade LX90 12” telescope and Canon 6D camera mounted on a Celestron CGEM-DX mount. Imaging was done on October 19, 2016 from Weatherly, Pennsylvania.
